About Us and Why Choose Us

Micro Engineering Works has its roots leading back to 1968.

What we deliver at Micro Engineering, comes from a combined experience and knowledge from 3 generations in the Mechanical industry. Started as a machine shop producing notebook making machinery in Punjab (Northern part of India), we have been making "wire stitching machines and allied machinery" since 1968, which still continues.

Jasminder ( Jas ) , the director/leading hand at Micro Engineering came to Australia on permanent skilled work visa (Permanent Residency) in 2016 and after getting few years of hands on experience of local engineering industry, he started a machine shop in 2019 from a shared workplace that became 'Micro Engineering Works'.

Jas is Australian/Indian/Canadian qualified as a Machinist and experienced mechanical designer.

(Fitter and Turner - Qualification from Victoria University Melbourne)

(Red Seal Machinist - Certification from Ontario College of Trades - Canada)

We see a gap in the Australian market for medium and small size CNC lathes and mills for prototyping and production. Australian machine shops have been solely relying on imported machines that cost a fortune and are out of budget of most small to medium machine shops. Result is a constant struggle to find a machine that is in good/reliable condition but always is out of warranty. Hence, we have decided to step up and bring a solution.

We are committed to sell quality made products and set industry standards.

Why us?
We like to be challenged and we take pride in our work we deliver.

Rather than being just another machine shop that makes components and focus on machining, we focus on solutions and continuous improvement. We love ideas, and more than that we love working on them and making them a reality.

Considering the manufacturing challenges in Australia, Micro Engineering has taken up projects and finished successfully that were not touched before in Australia due to lack of technology, manufacturing costs and resources related challenges. Our size and resources have never put a limit on our abilities.

We also want to be a machine shop that is accessible to individuals working on their personal projects. Even if you are someone working on a custom bike or car project and need our services, you will be treated same as any other business would.

Currently, we are striving to bring Australia's first ever 5 Axis CNC Machining Center -

"MicroCNC5"

and 3 and 4 Axis milling

"MicroCNC3" (add on 4th rotary axis).
